Training of Trainers (ToT) Financial Literacy Training of Microinsurance

On November 2019, GIZ, AXA, Inkopdit, DeveloPPP, and MICRA held Training of Trainers (ToT) Financial Literacy Training of Microinsurance at 4 locations in Indonesia, Jakarta, Bandung, Denpasar dan Maumere. The training was given to a total of almost 200 participants from all Puskopdit and Kopdit members in Indonesia.

The objective of the training is to increase the ability of the participants to become a trainer that able to deliver the materials related to risk and risk management, insurance and microinsurance and also product knowledge of AXA Inkopdit. The training was delivered with participatory methods: lecture, brainstorming, discussion, games, video, individual practice, microteaching and used Principle of Adult Learning Module and Risk, Insurance, and Microinsurance developed by MICRA.



The 1st training was held in Jakarta on 16 -18 November 2019, at Wisma Inkopdit Jakarta. The training was attended by 28 representative participants from all Puskopdits in Indonesia. The training was conducted by MICRA’s trainers, M. Ifdhol Mayudi and M. Faishol Khusni. On the first day of training, participants were given training material about the Principle of Adult Learning, the objective of this training is to increase the trainer's ability on how to communicate and interact with their audience, who are adults. After that MICRA’s trainers giving materials related to risk, insurance, and microinsurance, and participants had to divide into groups and must prepare materials related to those three topics.


On the second day of training, participants were given training material related to product knowledge of AXA Inkopdit, and must prepare training material related to that topic. Participants also learned how to fill the AXA Inkopdit form related to health declaration and claim process. Then, on the third day, participants must do microteaching sessions to 40 Credit Union Primer members near Jakarta.




The 2nd training was held in Bandung, on 20 – 21 November 2019, at Hotel Grandia Bandung. The training was attended by 46 participants from Puskopdit and all Kopdits in Jawa Barat. The training was conducted by MICRA’s trainers, M. Ifdhol Mayudi and M. Faishol Khusni. The training only held for 2 days and there’s no microteaching session with Credit Union Primer members, so the participants had to learn their communication skills in the classroom only.



The 3rd training was held in Denpasar, on 25 – 26 November 2019, at Hotel Neo Denpasar. The training was attended by 59 participants from Puskopdit and all Kopdits in Bali. The training was conducted by MICRA’s trainers, M. Faishol Khusni and Muhammad Soleh. Same with Bandung, the training in Denpasar also only held for 2 days and there’s no microteaching session with Credit Union Primer members, so the participants had to learn their communication skills in the classroom only.



The 4th training was held in Maumere, on 28 – 29 November 2019, at Hotel Sylvia Maumere. The training was attended by 48 participants from all Kopdits all over Flores. The farthest participants came from Lembata where they need to cross the strait with a motorboat to get the training venue. The training was conducted by MICRA’s trainers, M. Faishol Khusni and Muhammad Soleh. Same with Bandung and Denpasar, the training in Maumere also only held for 2 days and there’s no microteaching session with Credit Union Primer members, so the participants had to learn their communication skills in the classroom only.


Although the schedule of Training of Trainers (ToT) Financial Literacy Training of Microinsurance at Bandung, Denpasar dan Maumere were a bit different from ToT in Jakarta, those three locations only held for 2 days and the schedule was more packed, but all the participants from all locations were very enthusiastic to join the training. They were actively discussing the materials that have been delivered by MICRA’s trainers, they were also shared their experiences and problems related to risk, insurance, and microinsurance that they faced in their respective locations, and they also give some inputs related to AXA Inkopdit product. Furthermore, the training for all locations was closed by giving a certificate by GIZ Indonesia Y. Arihadi to the representative of ToT participants.
